THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: THURSDAY, 30TH DECEMBER, 2021

TOPIC: WHILE WE WAIT

TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:12-15

12.  And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,
13.  and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14.  Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
15.  See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

MESSAGE:
Christians are members of the body of Christ and so members of one family. As the bride of Christ, we are looking forward to the day our Lord Jesus - the bridegroom - shall come to take us home. In the meantime, we have an obligation towards one another. Paul in this passage mentions such to include: - recognising and acknowledging those who serve us in different capacities - teachers, evangelists, etc.

Those who have been placed over us, who admonish us such as elders, bishops and pastors, are to be esteemed and regarded highly. We are to respect and love one another, living at peace with all people while we wait for the coming of the Lord. Those in need are to be taken care of. Some may not know they have need of help or beware of their need, yet our duty remains. We are to warn the unruly, comfort and encourage the fainthearted, uphold the weak and be patient while doing good to all people. As we wait for the coming for the Lord, we are not to wait alone. As you go out today be careful to recognise and respect others for their God-given responsibilities while fulfilling your own obligation towards them.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be more prepared as I await Your return.
Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh...
