They had three major tasks before them namely: rebuilding the city, constructing the temple and rebuilding the altar of the· Lord. Under the leadership of Jeshua the high priest and Zerubbabel, they made the rebuilding of the altar their first priority. The altar was very important because of its central role in worshipping and offering sacrifices to God. Every Christian needs to have his/her priorities right. To worship, honour, and adore God ought to be the first priority in our lives. Unfortunately we spent time pursuing other priorities that involve meeting our needs even though Jesus gave this command in Matthew 6: 33: “…..
