OFFICIAL PARTNERSHIP AND SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS, COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND THE COUNSELLING ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (CASSON), DELTA STATE CHAPTER

In a significant milestone towards strengthening psychosocial support, family wellbeing, and community development in Delta State, the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development officially entered into a strategic partnership with the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), Delta State Chapter, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the establishment and operation of a Counselling Hub within the Ministry.
This historic partnership marks a major step in advancing professional counselling services, emotional support systems, mental health advocacy, and community-based interventions across the state, particularly for women, children, families, and vulnerable groups.

The signing ceremony, which brought together representatives of the Ministry and the leadership of CASSON Delta State Chapter, reflected a shared commitment to promoting emotional wellness, social stability, rehabilitation, and holistic human development through professional counselling and psychosocial services.
The Counselling Hub is expected to serve as a safe and professional platform for counselling, emotional support, crisis intervention, advocacy, mentorship, and community empowerment initiatives.
The partnership further reinforces the role of counselling professionals in supporting government efforts towards sustainable social development, mental health awareness, conflict resolution, youth development, family strengthening, and community transformation.
The State Chairperson, Venerable Dr Peters A. Agamugoro, JP, expressed appreciation to the Ministry for the confidence reposed in the Association and reaffirmed CASSON’s commitment to professionalism, ethical counselling practice, and impactful service delivery.

FIVE NEW FULL FLEDGED ANGLICAN DIOCESES

Five new Dioceses have been created in the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion.
