They will trample the pearls'' V6 FOR READING & MEDITATION: Matthew 7:1-6 Matthew 7:1-6 NIV [1] “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  [2] For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.  [3] “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?  [4] How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?  [5] You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.  [6] “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. The Church of Nigeria Reacts As ACNA Endorse Same-Sex Marriage

The College of Bishops of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA), at their recent meeting, issued a Pastoral Statement of toleration of same-sex persons within their fold. The Bishops noted “that the struggle with human identity is real and painful for Christians who experience same-sex attraction” and reject the use of language that identify such people for who they are- Gays; preferring that they be addressed as “Christians who experience same-sex attraction”. The College of Bishops also upheld a commitment to subsidiarity which defers to diocesan bishops, discernment on how to handle homosexuals in their church communities. It called on priests of their churches to teach about human sexuality based on the Bishops’ desire that parishes in ACNA province become “places where those who experience same-sex attraction, especially youths know where they can go to share about this reality”. These decisions by ACNA bishops tantamount to a subtle capitulation to recognize and promote sa

Dr. Tunde Adeleye.* *Archbishop of Niger-Delta Province and Bishop of Calabar Diocese* *Topic: How to make the Bishop to succeed.* *1. Pray for the Bishop* When you see people talking ill, abusing Bishops, it shows that they're not praying for their Bishop. We are afraid of those who talk bad about  others because the same way they will go at our back and talk bad about us too. Galassians 6:2, Such people have diarrhoea of the mouth. Remember the person you are talking about, God says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. Always pray for your Bishop, pray for one and another. *2. Be available for him* Be useful to your Bishop by making yourself available. Isaiah 6:5 Don't sit down and criticize, condemn and murmur. When you are available,if there's any corrections, take it with open heart.  Be available! *

Anglicanism: Spiritual meaning of 'Dog Collars'

IT IS GOOD TO ASK OF SPIRITUAL AND THEOLOGICAL MEANINGS OF OUR ANGLICAN HERITAGES BEFORE WE BEGIN TO CONDEMN THEM. SPIRITUAL MEANING OF DOG COLLAR . Spiritually it has become representative of a priest’s consecration to God and his role as someone set apart for priestly service. Some priests see it as a symbol of their “slavery” to God, showing the world who is their true Master. Additionally, because many priests find it rather uncomfortable, the collar has become a way of performing a daily penance to God, offering up the sacrifice for the people the priest serves. The collar remains a distinctive sign of the priest’s availability and the permanent nature of Holy Orders. The priest “is not his own” and is a visible sign of Jesus Christ, presenting  Himself as the Master. As the owner of the dog takes the dog anywhere. The theological implications are to bark against evil and total obedience to God as dog usually does. - Archdeacon Toba Olatunji This post first appeared here

DISHONORABLE CHRISTIANS: A SIGN TO HONORABLE ONES - Nathaniel C. Ezemandu

Umuahia Diocese Knights Rededication Retreat address; Jan 25, 2019 LESSONS: Numbers 12:1-16; 2 Timothy 2:19-21; Matthew 26:36-50; Psalm 8:1-6 TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. INTRODUCTION: All over the Old Testament when God's people began to live in disobedience, God often threatened to judge them, such that they would become signs to the obedient ones (i.e. they become a proverb and a by-word; see Ezekiel 14:18).  So, when disobedient persons were made signs as such, it was because 1) They were judged by God; and 2) So that the obedient ones were not tempted to follow bad examples; in that case, the judgment of the disobedient became a sign to guide the obedient away from evil. EXEGESIS: St Paul wrote our text to Timothy in the background of encouragements to obedience and warnings against disobedience. We see illustrations made with vessels of pr
