INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION) DATE: WEDNESDAY, 1ST JUNE, 2022  TOPIC: INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY TEXT: EXODUS 12:37-51  37.  Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. 38.  A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds -- a great deal of livestock. 39.  And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves. 40.  Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt [was] four hundred and thirty years. 41.  And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years -- on that very same day -- it came to pass that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. 42.  It [is] a night of solemn observance to the LORD for bringing them out of the land of Egypt

Also the LORD has said to me, 'You shall not cross over this Jordan.' 3. "The LORD your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the LORD has said. 4. "And the LORD will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them. 5.  "The LORD will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you. 6.  "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He [is] the One

And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred [and] forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4. These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from [among] men, [being] firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5.  And in their mouth was found no deceit, for

Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need [was there] that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 12. For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law.  13. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar.  14. For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. 15. And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest  16. who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. 17.
