THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2017.

TOPIC: MORE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BELIEVERS
TEXT: COLOSSIANS 4: 1-6

MESSAGE
Superiors usually give instructions to those under them. The aim of such instructions is to enable those under them to perform their work well and to free them from possible problems. In the last chapter of this epistle, Paul gives six important instructions to children of God. First he enjoins Christians to treat those who work under them with fairness and equity, remembering that God is the master over all men. He also emphasized the need to live a life of thanksgiving, with fervent prayers and watchfulness. Our prayers should not only focus on our needs but also for the extension of the Kingdom of God. We are also to pray for boldness for ministers and evangelists as they labour in God’s vineyard. Paul also emphasized the need for wisdom in our daily lives as we relate with others especially non Christians, discipline in time management and discretion in speech.

These instructions show that Christians are not free to live anyhow they please. We must be aware of our mission as Christ’s ambassadors, tasked with the responsibility of representing God here on earth and extending His kingdom. Are you adhering to these biblical instructions?

Prayer: Lord, help me to be committed to advancing the gospel and also to radiate Your nature in my relationship with others.

NB: MY APOLOGIES FOR NOT POSTING DEVOTIONALS, HAD TO GO TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR SOME DAYS. GOD BLESS YOU.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
