THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)
DATE: MONDAY, 6TH DECEMBER, 2021
TOPIC: GOD CARES!
TEXT: MICAH 2:12 -13
12. " I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, Like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of [so many] people.
13. The one who breaks open will come up before them; They will break out, Pass through the gate, And go out by it; Their king will pass before them, With the LORD at their head."
MESSAGE:
God is always on the side of the helpless and powerless! In the previous verses of this chapter (vs. 1-11), God's word came harshly against evil, heartless and ungodly leaders and powerful people who, instead of working to make life better for the poor, turn on the masses and oppress them. God is never happy with oppression and injustice! He actually detests them. He has promised to judge the oppressor and the unjust. The Word for today, therefore, comes as comfort and assurance to those who are downtrodden and those who are currently facing painful struggles under oppressive leadership: Weep no more, because God is acting on your behalf
You may have been ravaged, but now God is saying, "I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob... (V.12). When your heart is right with God, He intervenes on your behalf. Not only does He intervene, He also promises to be the leader that you need, leading you daily in the right paths, if you choose to follow Him. His promises of leadership also come with promises of breakthroughs (v.13) He is the God that has power to break through the "breaches" obstacles and barriers of your life, leading you to green pastures (Psalm 23:1-3; John 10:10-15). God, in Jesus Christ, is that
Good Shepherd and leader that you need to always follow and obey.
PRAYER:
Lord, I resolve to always follow and obey You from today. Lead me to Your pastures. Amen.
