DATE: SUNDAY, 10TH APRIL, 2022 (PALM SUNDAY)
TOPIC: BEHOLD HE COMES…
TEXT: ZECHARIAH 9:9-12
9. " Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He [is] just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
10. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim And the horse from Jerusalem; The battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion [shall be] 'from sea to sea, And from the River to the ends of the earth.'
11. " As for you also, Because of the blood of your covenant, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
12. Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare [That] I will restore double to you.
MESSAGE:
Today is Palm Sunday: A Day set aside among Anglicans and some other churches to commemorate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem as a King. In our text today, Prophet Zechariah captures this glorious procession.
As we celebrate the Palm Sunday today, let us ask ourselves at least two questions: Are we yielded enough to God (like the ass in our text), so that Christ can freely ride on our lives to showcase His glory? Again, when He comes in His glory to take the saints home, will we be ready? Oh how we need God’s grace to faithfully answer both questions well! In being fully yielded and in holiness, may we avail ourselves to the Lord for Him to find us worthy and ready when He comes!
PRAYER:
Help me, dear Lord, to be ready when You come, Amen!
