TOPIC: A BETTER LANGUAGE

TEXT: HEBREWS 12:18-29

18.  For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,

19.  and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard [it] begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.

20.  (For they could not endure what was commanded: "And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow."

21.  And so terrifying was the sight [that] Moses said, "I am exceedingly afraid and trembling.")

22.  But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

23.  to the general assembly and church of the firstborn [who are] registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24.  to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than [that of] Abel.

25.  See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more [shall we not escape] if we turn away from Him who [speaks] from heaven,

26.  whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven."

27.  Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28.  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

29.  For our God [is] a consuming fire.

MESSAGE:

Blood speaks! As a result of this, both the Old and New Testaments were sealed by blood. However, there are some differences in both Testaments as touching the way God speaks. Our text today compares God’s speaking from Mount Sinai (Exo. 19:12-19) with that of the New Testament (Heb. 12:22-24). In the former, God spoke to the people of Israel on Mount Sinai which burned with fire; and whoever touched the Mount was to die immediately.

However, in the New Testament, we have come to Mount Zion, the City of the Living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem… and to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Christ’s blood speaks atonement, forgiveness, peace with God, etc.; whereas the blood of Abel spoke vengeance. Having come to a better covenant by faith, we need to sustain that position by divine grace so that we may serve Him acceptably with reverence and godly fear, for God is a consuming fire.

PRAYER:

Lord, please help me to fully understand the meaning of my being in Mount Zion.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
