DATE: WEDNESDAY, 26TH JULY, 2023

TOPIC: SHOW YOUR LIGHT

TEXT: MARK 4:21-34

21.  Also He said to them, "Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?
22.  "For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.
23.  "If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear."
24.  Then He said to them, "Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.
25.  "For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."
26.  And He said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground,
27.  "and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.
28.  "For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.
29.  "But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come."
30.  Then He said, "To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?
31.  "[It is] like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth;
32.  "but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade."
33.  And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear [it.]
34.  But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

MESSAGE:
Today's passage reveals to us that every normal human being would not light a lamp and hide it under a basket but rather would put it on a lamp stand . This means that a lamp can only perform its function maximally when. But if positioned well on the lamp stand, it will give light to everyone who comes in contact with it and also reveal all hidden things (v. 22).
Beloved, you are a light in this wicked world. If you align yourself with Christ, others will notice your light and recognise that your life is different from their own and this will attract them to Christ (Matt. 5:14-16). God has positioned you as one of His children where He puts you. Do not hide your light - show it to the world by sharing the gospel of Christ with them. You are not to hide the truth you carry. As a Christian, you are not supposed to hide your identity; fly your banner and share the good news of Christ. Be willing to discuss your salvation experience with others around you.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, give me grace and boldness to show my light in the midst of darkness of this world, in Jesus' name. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
