TOPIC: JESUS HAS AUTHORITY OVER EVERY STORM

TEXT: MARK 4:35-41

35.  On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let us cross over to the other side."
36.  Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.
37.  And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling.
38.  But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"
39.  Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
40.  But He said to them, "Why are you so fearful? How [is it] that you have no faith?"
41.  And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!"
 

MESSAGE: 
Today's passage shows the authority of Jesus over every storm of life. When evening had come, the disciples decided to cross over to the other side, but suddenly a great windstorm arose against their boat (vv. 36-37). In spite of the storm, Jesus was asleep because He had authority over every storm of life (v.38). This indicates the authority that Jesus over every situation and circumstance. When the disciples awoke Him, He rose up and rebuked the storm and the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Beloved, Satan knows that there is a better life for you at the other side of the sea and he does not want you to get there. That is the reason he continuously raises different storms to frustrate you. But the good news is that you will certainly get to your destination because the Lord Jesus Christ has power over every situation, including whatever storm the devil brings your way. All you need do is relax confidently on Him. All authority both in heaven and on earth belongs to Jesus. No matter how violent the storm in your life, marriage, business, ministry and career might be, you should believe that Jesus who has authority over every storm is with you. He will not allow the ship of your life to capsize. There is life beyond the storm, if Jesus is in the boat of your life.


Prayer:  
Dear Lord, I receive You into the boat of my life; take Your rightful place, reign. Amen.

FIVE NEW FULL FLEDGED ANGLICAN DIOCESES

Five new Dioceses have been created in the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. The Church's official website - http://www.anglican-nig.org/main.php?k_j=12&d=352&p_t=index.php? posted the information thus: The Standing Committee Meeting of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion has approved the creation of five new full fledged Dioceses at their meeting at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen’s Umuahia, Abia State. They are Shendam Diocese carved out of Langtang Diocese, Plateau state, Ido-Ani Diocese from present Owo Diocese, in Ondo state, Igbomina West from Igbomina Diocese,Kwara state, Ilesha North East from Ilesha in Osun state and Ijebu South West from Ijebu Diocese in Ogun state.
