REDEMPTION IN CHRIST

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: FRIDAY, 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2023 (NATIVITY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY)

TOPIC: REDEMPTION IN CHRIST

TEXT: GALATIANS 4:4-7

4. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5.  to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
6.  And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
7.  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

MESSAGE:
At the peak of time, the plan of God to save man came to pass in a virgin called Mary being pregnant by the power of the Holy Ghost as prophesied by Prophet Isaiah. This pregnancy resulted in the birth of Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world. Christ's birth and death redeemed man from the slavery of the law and the age-long relationship that was lost in Garden of Eden was restored.
By this act of God, as many as have received Christ into their lives by believing in Him as the Saviour are now sons of God with a deposit of His Spirit in them. They now have access to God through prayer calling him their Father. This also means that anyone who has not received Him still lives in unbelief and is not a child of God. Are you a son or a slave?

PRAYER:
Dear Father, deliver us from the curse of the law by the faith in Christ Jesus. Amen.

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
