ONE BODY, DIFFERENT PARTS

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: SATURDAY, 9TH SEPTEMBER, 2023

TOPIC: ONE BODY, DIFFERENT PARTS

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 12:1-11

1. Now concerning spiritual [gifts,] brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
2. You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
3. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
4. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
6.  And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
7.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit [of all:]
8.  for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9.  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
10.  to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another [different] kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

MESSAGE:
In January 1990, I was part of a group that gathered in a prayer camp to seek the face of the Lord in prayer and fasting for 3 three days. It was indeed an experience I can't easily forget in my Christian life on earth. At the last prayer session before the dismissal, a brother filled in the Holy Ghost, began to speak in the language that we couldn't understand. Almost immediately, another brother began to interpret what he was saying. It got to a point, we understood through the interpreter that God said He was giving us the latter rain. Almost immediately, physical rain began to pour down in that prayer camp. What made it so significant was that it was in the midst of dry season, and the rain ceased immediately after the prophecy stopped.
How could we have understood if there was no interpreter? Would the brother through whom the original message came from boast that he was the main man? Not at all. Whatever spiritual gift any man manifests in God's house is not more important than the other person's. We are all parts of the same body, and cannot claim to be complete without the other. Seek Spiritual gifts but also realise that you are not complete without others.

PRAYER:
Dear God, help me to realise that the spiritual gifts in other people are also from You. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
