TOPIC: MISSING LINK

TEXT: LUKE 10:25-37
25.  And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
26.  He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading [of it?"]
27.  So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' "
28.  And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."
29.  But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30.  Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain [man] went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded [him,] and departed, leaving [him] half dead.
31.  "Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32.  "Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
33.  "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.
34.  "So he went to [him] and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35.  "On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave [them] to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'
36.  "So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?"
37.  And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

MESSAGE:
I know of a brilliant young man who gained admission into the university to study medicine and surgery. His father was a bicycle repairer and could not afford to take care of him in school. This boy suffered so much in his first weeks in the school and at the end of the semester; he could not travel home because of transport money. He sat dejectedly under the tree in the school compound as others were leaving for their homes and suddenly one of his classmates saw him in that dejection and offered him the opportunity to follow him to his own house. The young man immediately jumped at the offer. The father of his classmate during those holidays understood the economic hardship this young man was going through and took up the responsibility of training him until graduation as doctor. This is the missing link in our world today!
Everyone, including the hallowed Priest and the consecrated Levite, had the reason not to be of help but a 'common' Samaritan provided the link of love needed at that time. Who is your neighbour? How are you treating him? Remember the question: “Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life"?

PRAYER:
God, help me to provide that missing link of love for others in this generation. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh...
