HE IS AT THE DOOR

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: FRIDAY, 30TH DECEMBER, 2022

TOPIC: HE IS AT THE DOOR

TEXT: MARK 13:28-31

28.  " Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.
29.  "So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near -- at the doors!
30.  "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.
31.  "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

MESSAGE:
In our text today, Jesus gives the parable of the fig tree - a basic analogy from nature that He used to make a point about His second coming. Just as one may easily tell that summer is near when one sees the fig tree begin to sprout leaves, even so believers could know that the coming of Jesus is near when they see the signs Jesus had described. These include the great tribulation (vs. 19-25) and the chaotic events (vs. 26-27). When you see these preliminary events taking place, then the end is soon, the King is at the door. A look at events all over the world reveals that these events or signs are already taking place. Whoever is alive to see these things happening should know that the coming of Christ is near. And friends, the coming of Jesus is nearer now than when we first believed. How ready are you to meet Him? No matter what terrible things happen in your life, or no matter how many changes you see taking place around you, the word of our Lord is a sure foundation upon which to build our lives. Will you trust in our Lord Jesus and His word, or will you try to build your life on the shifting sands of the world and its lies?

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, thank You for not keeping us in the dark.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
