CHILD WITH DESTINY

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: THURSDAY, 22ND DECEMBER, 2022

TOPIC: CHILD WITH DESTINY

TEXT: MATTHEW 1:18-25

18.  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.
19.  Then Joseph her husband, being a just [man,] and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20.  But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21.  "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."
22.  So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
23.  "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
24.  Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,
25.  and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.

MESSAGE:
Every child born into this world comes with a purpose and a destiny. In our text, angel Gabriel announces the purpose and destiny of Jesus ahead of His birth. He said that Jesus would come to bring salvation to mankind. And when Jesus came, He was never at any point confused about that. God was very confident that His Son would succeed in His mission to save His people. Jesus did exactly what He came to do: He saved us (and still saves us) from our sins. He paid the debt we owed but could never pay. Jesus came into our world to clean up the mess we couldn’t clean ourselves. God has a purpose and a destiny for each child or person-including you. Have you discovered yours? Are you working towards fulfilling your purpose and destiny? It may not be clear to you what your specific purpose may be but as you submit yourself to Jesus who saves, He will draw you into the general purpose of living a life to glorify His name. He is Immanuel – always with us and still in the business of saving people. He calls you to come to Him and receive wisdom so you can live and fulfil your destiny. Note that you are no ordinary person but a child of destiny.

PRAYER:
Lord, please make known to me my purpose and destiny on earth. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
