THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: TUESDAY, 16TH NOVEMBER, 2021

TOPIC: BE WARNED: THERE IS A DAY OF DARKNESS AND JUDGEMENT

TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 11:7-10

7.  Truly the light is sweet, And [it is] pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun;

8.  But if a man lives many years [And] rejoices in them all, Yet let him remember the days of darkness, For they will be many. All that is coming [is] vanity.

9.  Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment.

10.  Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, And put away evil from your flesh, For childhood and youth [are] vanity.

MESSAGE:

Today's reading reminds us that life is not to be taken for granted. There are times of enjoyment and times when we experience darkness (v.8). It comes to both the good and the bad. And it is necessary to prepare for it. It is also paints for us a picture of life after here, when we meet God in Judgment.

We are therefore to live our lives here on earth as those who are accountable to God. Righteousness and holiness ensure that we meet God without a sense of guilt and condemnation. Let the young and the old alike keep away from fleshly lust which war against the soul (1 Pet. 2:11), and put away evil from the flesh (v.10), because

some of the things we call "enjoyment" now are actually instruments of destruction in hell. So, let us watch what we do with our lives because one day, and that day is close, God will bring our actions into judgment. Are you ready for that day?

PRAYER:

Dear Jesus, please keep me pure and holy on my earthly journey so I can meet You without guilt and condemnation on Your judgement seat.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
