THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: SUNDAY, 7TH NOVEMBER, 2021 (TWENTY-THIRD SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY )

TOPIC: ARISE, TAKE UP YOUR BED AND WALK

TEXT: JOHN 5:2-14

2. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep [Gate] a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
3. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
4. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
5.  Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
6.  When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been [in that condition] a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?"
7.  The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me."
8.  Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk."
9.  And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
10.  The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry [your] bed."
11.  He answered them, "He who made me well said to me, 'Take up your bed and walk.' "
12.  Then they asked him, "Who is the Man who said to you, 'Take up your bed and walk'?"
13.  But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in [that] place.
14.  Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you."

MESSAGE:
The book of John 5:1-14 speaks of a paralytic man at the pool of Bethesda. The angel of the Lord came at a certain season to stir the pool and anyone who was fortunate to enter the pool first after thee stirring of the water was made whole of whatever disease he had This impotent man came to the pool expecting to be healed but as desperate as he was, he could not be healed. For thirty-eight years this man was in a state of despair and buried in hopelessness. Suddenly, Jesus the Son of God shows up. The One who spoke the universe into existence looked upon this man with compassion and having known that he had been in that condition for a long time,. said to him. "Arise, take up your bed and walk "and he arose, took up his bed, walked and went home rejoicing.

Jesus is still in the business of liberating, healing delivering and saving men today. His compassion never fails, that is why whatever you are passing through now, the Lord says to you, 'arise, take up your bed and walk.' No matter how long you have suffered that adversity, Jesus heals you now! That power in the words of Jesus is still here now. You are healed from whatsoever sickness in your body. Arise, take your bed and walk in Jesus name!

PRAYER:
Father, by Your word now, I believe that I am healed in Jesus name. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
