TOPIC: MESSAGE THAT BRINGS REPENTANCE!

TEXT: JONAH 3:1-10

1. Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying,
2. "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you."
3. So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey [in extent.]
4. And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!"
5.  So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.
6.  Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered [himself] with sackcloth and sat in ashes.
7.  And he caused [it] to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water.
8.  But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.
9.  Who can tell [if] God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?
10.  Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

MESSAGE:
God did send Jonah again to deliver the same message he was given earlier. Though Jonah disobeyed initially but this time, he delivered God's message very raw to the people of Nineveh and gave them specific time the judgment of God would come upon them if they failed to repent (v.4). On hearing the message, the whole city repented and put on sack clothes and ashes.
Today, the church and entire nation needs a raw message from men of God. Enough of prosperity messages! Men of God should preach messages that will convict sinners; messages that will make sinners to be afraid to sin. Again, our repentance must be genuine. Nineveh's repentance was very genuine and God heard their cry and had compassion on them. No wonder, Jesus made mention of Nineveh's repentance in Matthew 12:41.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, give Your people the heart of repentance as You did for the Nineveh. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
