GOD WILL PUNISH UNJUST LEADERS

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: TUESDAY, 24TH OCTOBER, 2023

TOPIC: GOD WILL PUNISH UNJUST LEADERS

TEXT:  MICAH 3

1. And I said: "Hear now, O heads of Jacob, And you rulers of the house of Israel: [Is it] not for you to know justice?
2. You who hate good and love evil; Who strip the skin from My people, And the flesh from their bones;
3. Who also eat the flesh of My people, Flay their skin from them, Break their bones, And chop [them] in pieces Like [meat] for the pot, Like flesh in the caldron."
4. Then they will cry to the LORD, But He will not hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, Because they have been evil in their deeds.
5.  Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets Who make my people stray; Who chant "Peace" While they chew with their teeth, But who prepare war against him Who puts nothing into their mouths:
6.  "Therefore you shall have night without vision, And you shall have darkness without divination; The sun shall go down on the prophets, And the day shall be dark for them.
7.  So the seers shall be ashamed, And the diviners abashed; Indeed they shall all cover their lips; For [there is] no answer from God."
8.  But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, And of justice and might, To declare to Jacob his transgression And to Israel his sin.
9.  Now hear this, You heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who abhor justice And pervert all equity,
10.  Who build up Zion with bloodshed And Jerusalem with iniquity:
11.  Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the LORD, and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No harm can come upon us."
12.  Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed [like] a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, And the mountain of the temple Like the bare hills of the forest.

MESSAGE:
Leadership, at all levels, is expected to be just and rule in the fear of the Lord (2 Sam. 23:3). Unfortunately, today, in the Church and secular world, leaders are unjust, selfish, self-centered and insensitive to the needs and plight of the people they rule over. In our text today, we see rulers of God's people, (vv. 1-4, 9-10), as well as prophets and priests (vv. 5-7,11-12) who were after their own interests.
Are you a leader at any level? Remember that it is God who put you in that leadership position in order to help make life better for the people. If you are after your own interests, you will give account of how you abuse that God-given leadership responsibility entrusted unto you, one day. Just as God judged the unjust leaders in our text, He will also judge you one day.

PRAYER:
O Lord, help me to be just and walk in Your fear as a leader in Jesus name. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
