UNITY OF BELIEVERS

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: TUESDAY, 21ST JUNE, 2022

TOPIC: UNITY OF BELIEVERS

TEXT: EPHESIANS 4:4-6

4. [There is] one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;

5.  one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

6.  one God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

MESSAGE:

Believers are people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ and have surrendered their lives to Him through repentance. Through this process, they become born again and form the church - the body of Christ.

The church therefore is made up of people of different nationalities, cultures, languages and colour, with Jesus as the head. Apostle Paul in today’s text drew the attention of the Ephesian Christians to the need to be united. This unity is based on the truth that they share one body, one spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and one father in common.

By implication, every believer is a part of this body and cannot exist and function exclusively. Often times, believers allow minor differences in doctrines and their individualities to work against this unity. This ought not to be; rather we must work for unity by expressing true love, peace, patience as well as forgiveness.

How do you foster the unity of believers in your church or fellowship group? God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one and work in unity to achieve divine purpose. Let us therefore emulate our Father to also achieve this divine mandate.

PRAYER:

Lord, please use me to build Your Church in unity. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness.
