TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING HIS GREATNESS

TEXT: EPHESIANS 1:15-23

15.  Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

16.  do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:

17.  that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

18.  the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19.  and what [is] the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

20.  which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated [Him] at His right hand in the heavenly [places,]

21.  far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

22.  And He put all [things] under His feet, and gave Him [to be] head over all [things] to the church,

23.  which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

MESSAGE:

The level of knowledge we have affects our behaviour and reactions. A sister’s doctorate degree certificate had errors and was submitted for corrections. The bureaucratic process delayed the process till she became a Professor. She did not understand the powers associated with her new position and went from office-to-office begging for solutions without success till her husband told her: “It seems that you don’t understand who you are. Go to the Dean of the Postgraduate School, lodge your complaint and it will be handled.” She did that and the certificate was given to her that same day.

Apostle Paul in today’s passage prays for us to understand who Jesus is, the hope of His calling, riches of our inheritance in Him and surpassing greatness of His power. Jesus has a positional authority (He is forever, far above all principalities, powers, might, names); He has unchanging rulership status (He is not elected or dethroned); He is Supreme for all things are under His feet, and He is appointed as the Overall Head over all things, His ability to raise the dead and fill all things shows His immeasurable greatness and power. Beloved, what challenge is troubling your life? Pray for today’s revelation to become real in your spirit and faith will arise to combat your mountains in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER:

May my eyes of understanding be enlightened O Lord to know the surpassing greatness of Your power and glory.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
