YOUR JOY IS AT HAND

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: SUNDAY, 5TH NOVEMBER, 2023 (TRINITY 22)

TOPIC: YOUR JOY IS AT HAND

TEXT: JOHN 16:21-24

21.  "A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.
22.  "Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.
23.  "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
24.  "Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

MESSAGE:
In today's passage, we see that Jesus Christ was preparing to leave His disciples and that brought sorrow to their hearts. He used the scenario of a woman in travail of childbirth one moment and rejoicing the next moment to assure them that their sorrow would eventually turn to joy. The joy that would come to the disciples would cancel their sorrow. He told them “And ye therefore now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man takes from you” (v. 22). This agrees with the Psalmist's declaration that “weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning” (Psa.30:5).

Beloved, your season of joy is very close. It does not matter what you are going through at the moment; God's promise to you is that your will definitely exchange your sorrow for joy. Your suffering can be a result of satanic affliction, hatred from family and friends or a test of faith. It could also be on the basis of your faith. Your Christian position on issues of life could also land you in the wilderness of pain or sorrow. The heart-warming promise of the Lord to you is that your sorrow shall turn to joy and no one will take your joy from you.

PRAYER:
Thank You heavenly Father because my joy is at hand. I shall laugh last.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
