HE FEELS YOUR PAINS

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: THURSDAY, 16TH NOVEMBER, 2023.

TOPIC: HE FEELS YOUR PAINS

TEXT:
HEBREWS 4:14-5:1-14

4:14  Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] confession.
15.  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all [points] tempted as [we are, yet] without sin.
16.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things [pertaining] to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
2. He can [a]have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also subject to weakness.
3. Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.
4. And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was.
5. So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: “You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.”
6. As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek”;
7. who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
8. though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
9. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
10. called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”
11. of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
12. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
13. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
14. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

MESSAGE:
So many times, we are misunderstood, misinterpreted and misrepresented. There are even times when after adequate preparation for a task, and result would come out poorly. These situations might have caused us to almost lose hope. There are situations in which we are also disappointed in our selves, because of certain actions we have taken, or omitted taking.
Most people around us are impatient with failures, and some might not hear you out let alone give you a second chance. I introduce to you the man who despite your wrongs and your past will never reject you. The Bible tells us that Christ as our high priest understands our pains, tears and disappointment. So He can bring comfort like no other. It will be hard for someone who has not passed through such an experience you are passing through to come to your aid and bring adequate succour. Jesus came to earth in human nature and passed through every form of pain and struggle, so He can help you cope with all forms of disappointment life presents to you, and above all, grant you access to the Father. Are you rejected, oppressed physically or betrayed? He can handle it all for you because He suffered the same experiences. Your weaknesses should not take you away from Him. They should rather draw you to Him so He can help you in moments of pains. Don't hold back, call on Him today!

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, please get me conscious of Your presence and works in my life. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
