TOPIC: WALKING IN CHRIST IS WALKING IN DAYLIGHT

TEXT: JOHN 11:1-17

1. Now a certain [man] was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2. It was [that] Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
3. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick."
4. When Jesus heard [that,] He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."
5.  Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
6.  So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.
7.  Then after this He said to [the] disciples, "Let us go to Judea again."
8.  [The] disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?"
9.  Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
10.  "But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."
11.  These things He said, and after that He said to them, "Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up."
12.  Then His disciples said, "Lord, if he sleeps he will get well."
13.  However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep.
14.  Then Jesus said to them plainly, "Lazarus is dead.
15.  "And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him."
16.  Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "Let us also go, that we may die with Him."
17.  So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.

MESSAGE:
Although He heard the news of Lazarus' sickness, Jesus tarried for two more days. At the appointed time, He decided to go to Judea (v.7). But His disciples wondered why He would go through the territory of the Jews where His life was at stake?”“Jesus answered,“…If any man walks in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world” (v.9).

It is dangerous to walk without light. As the light of the world, Jesus was confident that even though He walked in the valley of the shadow of death, evil could not prevail over Him. No one can stop Him from fulfilling purpose. There is no need to entertain any fear while it is day. When you live your life in “the light of men”-John 1:4, that is, when you have given your life to Jesus, you need not entertain fear. As a child of God, when you walk in Jesus (John 9:5), no evil can overpower you, you will always come out victorious. You cannot stumble in Christ, because, He is the light. The reason people stumble in the night is because, there is no light (v.10b).

PRAYER:
Jesus, be Thou my guide and hear me when I call. Let not my slippery footstep slide, lest I fall.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
