JESUS IS NEVER LATE

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: SUNDAY, 30TH APRIL, 2023 (THIRD SUNDAY AFTER EASTER)

TOPIC: JESUS IS NEVER LATE

TEXT: JOHN 11: 17-27

17.  So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.
18.  Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away.
19.  And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20.  Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.
21.  Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
22.  "But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You."
23.  Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
24.  Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
25.  Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
26.  "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
27.  She said to Him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."

MESSAGE:
When Jesus and His disciples were on the way to Bethany to see Martha and Mary, Lazarus had already spent four days in the grave. Many Jewish sympathisers had come to comfort Martha and Mary. On hearing that Jesus was coming, Martha went alone to meet Him and told Him that her brother died because He did not come on time. However, she knew that He could make a difference by His presence. Jesus simply told her that Lazarus would rise again and she replied that it would be at the resurrection at the last day. Jesus told her that He is the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Him, though dead, shall live, while anyone who is alive and believes in Him shall never die. Martha agreed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God in the flesh.
Are you in an unfortunate, uncomfortable, undesirable situation and people cannot help? You may have fasted, prayed, sowed seed and yet no response. Hold on to your faith for Jesus, the resurrection power and life to all dead situations will surely come. He is never late; His presence will change your sorrow to joy, your weeping to laughter, emptiness to fullness, shame to double honour, fruitlessness to fruitfulness and hopelessness to a living hope.(Isa.61: 3, 7a).

PRAYER:
Help me O God to rest in You and wait patiently in Jesus name. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
