VICTORY IS OF GOD

THE DAILY FOUNTAIN DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA (ANGLICAN COMMUNION)

DATE: THURSDAY, 23RD MARCH, 2023

TOPIC: VICTORY IS OF GOD

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 3: 1-8

1. "Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan; and Og king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2. "And the LORD said to me, 'Do not fear him, for I have delivered him and all his people and his land into your hand; you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.'
3. "So the LORD our God also delivered into our hands Og king of Bashan, with all his people, and we attacked him until he had no survivors remaining.
4. "And we took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we did not take from them: sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5.  "All these cities [were] fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides a great many rural towns.
6.  "And we utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children of every city.
7.  "But all the livestock and the spoil of the cities we took as booty for ourselves.
8.  "And at that time we took the land from the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who [were] on this side of the Jordan, from the River Arnon to Mount Hermon

MESSAGE:
Israel's journey to the land of promise was full of wars with many nations as they sojourned to Canaan. However, the Lord was with them and assured them of victory at every point in time. The Lord delivered these nations with their Kings and lands into the hands of the Israelites as He promised. Note that in our text, the cities were sixty in number, greatly fortified, with high and lofty walls which was seemingly an impossible task to achieve. But the unchanging great God made it possible to defeat all those nations due to His all surpassing power to conquer any stronghold.
Beloved, wars in the journey to our promised land (heaven) is part of the Christian race. So as children of God, we are confronted by many seen and unseen wars but the Lord has promised us His presence and deliverance. Some of such confrontations might be quite fierce and impossible to overcome by our human abilities as in our text today. The keys to victory are to fear not, refuse to be intimidated by the enormous size of challenge and impossibility of the situation, listen to God at every point in time to get directives for action and judiciously obey His biddings. What challenges are you facing? Apply these keys and you shall convert the wars into testimonies to the glory of God.

PRAYER:
May You continue to fight my battles Lord, for I am weak but You are mighty. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh
