Five new Dioceses have been created in the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. The Church's official website - http://www.anglican-nig.org/main.php?k_j=12&d=352&p_t=index.php? posted the information thus: The Standing Committee Meeting of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion has approved the creation of five new full fledged Dioceses at their meeting at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen’s Umuahia, Abia State. They are Shendam Diocese carved out of Langtang Diocese, Plateau state, Ido-Ani Diocese from present Owo Diocese, in Ondo state, Igbomina West from Igbomina Diocese,Kwara state, Ilesha North East from Ilesha in Osun state and Ijebu South West from Ijebu Diocese in Ogun state. At the presentation, the head of the Committee responsible for creation of new Dioceses, the most Rev. Joseph Akinfenwa Archbishop Ibadan Province and Bishop of Ibadan who led a team of four assured the house that the stage is set and the New Dioceses have met all the requirements for creation

I just saw Rick Warren's vow he sent to us on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home). It has really challenged me. i told him i am adopting it myself as it is inspiring, challenging, as well as capable of making me more useful to the Lord. Lord Jesus i hereby vow to be; Liberal in praising others; Conservative in judging; Moderate in accepting honor; RADICAL in loving Jesus! Amen! What about you, what is your resolve?

At the meeting of the house of bishops yesterday, a new primate was elected for the church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) He is the Most Revd Nicholas Okoh, the archbishop of Bendel Province and Bishop of the diocese of Asaba.

O my God! i forgot totally that yesterday was the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew's Youth Harvest Thanksgiving Service. The service was awesome. the church was filled and over flowed outside. i noticed the genuine spirit of thanksgiving in both youths and elders alike as we celebrated the gift of youthfulness in God's church. here are some photographs of the service.

On 24 February 1979, the sixteen dioceses of Nigeria were joined in the ecclesiastical province of Nigeria with Timothy O. Olufosoye, then bishop of Ibadan, becoming its first archbishop, primate and metropolitan. In 1988, Joseph Abiodun Adetiloye became the second primate and metropolitan of Nigeria and the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) was founded. Peter Jasper akinola was elected Primate and Metropolitan of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion on February 22nd, 2000 and presented on March 25th 2000. Though he opted for voluntary retirement early in the year, he was pressured to continue his episcopacy till march 2010. As prescribed in the constitution of the Church of Nigeria, a Primate must be elected six months prior to the incumbent's retirement, for the newly elected primate to understudy and master the process of the new office. Adetiloye in December 1999, the Most Revd Peter J. Akinola was by Divine providence, duly elected the 3 rd Primate of the Church of Nigeria on Tuesday, February 22, 2000. Archbishop Akinola, who was called from the carpentry of wood and materials to the carpentry of the Church of God, eventually proved himself a master craft man who visualizes a design and then perfectly brings it to reality. Before his election, Archbishop Akinola, who prior to his election as Primate was the Dean, Church of Nigeria, the Archbishop of the Province III (Northern Dioceses) and Bishop of Abuja, had by Divine Grace and Enablement built the Diocese of Abuja literally from nothing to the most viable Diocese of the Church of Nigeria. Thus for those who knew him, it was little wonder that his emergence as the Primate would definitely take

Today has been very interesting for me. First of all, my day began with the morning prayer wherein i preached on "Obedience will take you to the place of destiny fulfillment". It was awesome. The effect of God's call to total obedience in the message was well understood and accepted by the audience of almost five hundred persons. All thee glory be unto Jesus forever more. amen. Secondly, today marked the beginning of a three day Youth Empowerment programme of the church. Youths as well as adults attended. Tunde Opaleye who did website design was something else. The attendees expressed real satisfaction. What else is the joy of a Pastor other than to see the members flourishing? Thirdly, I preached my second and last message at St Paul's Church. The attendance was relatively low - about thirty persons in all yet, we were delightfully surprised by God's awesome presence. Many received the Holy Ghost baptism, two the gifts of prophecy, two of the brethren were drunk
