TOPIC: THE LORD HONOURED A WEDDING INVITATION

TEXT: JOHN 2:1 - 12

1. On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.

3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so,

9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside

10.  and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

11.  What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

12.  After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.

MESSAGE:
One thing that should gladden our hearts is that Jesus Christ,, though God, was not loo spiritual to participate in man's everyday experience, whether it is a wedding feast which gives us pleasure, a funeral which gives us pain, a sport by which we are entertained, an occupation by which we earn a living, or a course of study in which we are involved, Jesus Christ is interested in everything and everyday experience. Bringing the Lord into every aspect of our lives is very crucial and commendable. Neglecting to invite Jesus into common or ordinary things of our lives has the same consequences as driving Him away from partaking in our everyday experiences (Matt. 8:28-34).

Allow the Lord to be in absolute control of all situations in your life: "Whatever He tells you to do, do it" (v.5). He is the Lord. It is only when you invite Him to your situation and do His bidding that He turns that situation around for your blessing and for the glory of His name (Matt. 10:29-31; 1 Pet. 5: 7).

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, please help me to remember that every aspect of my life matters to You and that I must allow You have the final say. Amen.

EXCERPTS FROM: 24/7 WARFARE PRAYERS AND SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGH MANUAL

INTRODUCTION Right from childhood, the number “SEVEN” has always been an intrigue, an interesting puzzle, a fascination, and a great phenomenon to me. I was actually born on the seventh day of the month; perhaps this was one of the reasons why something leaps inside of me whenever I see the number. But as I grew up in the Christian faith I began to see a regular reference to it the scriptures. I was kind of saying, whoa! Holy bliss! Seven occurs 257 times, or 7 × 41 Seventh, the fractional part occurs 98 times or 7× 14 Seven –fold occurs 7 times. Seventy occurs 56 times or 7× 8 “Seventy” in combination with other numbers occurs 35 times or 7× 5. God is pleased to stamp the number “Seven” with the seal of perfection and completeness. God never down played the importance of the number, because it was the number of God. It is a carrier of God’s mysteries. It pleased God that, the Seventh man from Adam – Enoch sh...
