TOPIC: LIFE WITHOUT JESUS IS A WASTE

TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 4:1-8

1. Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter -- On the side of their oppressors [there is] power, But they have no comforter.
2. Therefore I praised the dead who were already dead, More than the living who are still alive.
3. Yet, better than both [is he] who has never existed, Who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.
4. Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also [is] vanity and grasping for the wind.
5. The fool folds his hands And consumes his own flesh.
6. Better a handful [with] quietness Than both hands full, [together with] toil and grasping for the wind.
7. Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun:
8. There is one alone, without companion: He has neither son nor brother. Yet [there is] no end to all his labors, Nor is his eye satisfied with riches. [But he never asks,] "For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?" This also [is] vanity and a grave misfortune.

MESSAGE: 
From the passage read today, we can see that God blessed the writer of this book, KIng Solomon, with almost every good thing of life -knowledge and riches. In his search for the essence of life, he observed that "under the Sun", the successful ones with all they have acquired, the oppressors with the volume or length of their powers, as well as the oppressed with the depth of their sufferings and agony, are all vanity without Jesus.
         
Today, these different sets of people are very much around us. Yes, it is good to be rich and successful. It is expected that some people will be the leaders and others subjects. But what should be the most important is to live our lives in Christ Jesus. We must understand that everybody will leave this world, but then, where will you go to after death? The scripture tells us to set our affection on things above (Jesus and eternity), not on things on the earth which are vanity. Know that Christ in you is the hope of tomorrow and life without Jesus is a waste. Accept Jesus into your life today before it is too late. For All you see now is vanity.

PRAYER: 
Help me, Oh Lord, to have You and set my mind towards Your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FIVE NEW FULL FLEDGED ANGLICAN DIOCESES

Five new Dioceses have been created in the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. The Church's official website - http://www.anglican-nig.org/main.php?k_j=12&d=352&p_t=index.php? posted the information thus: The Standing Committee Meeting of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion has approved the creation of five new full fledged Dioceses at their meeting at the Cathedral Church of St. Stephen’s Umuahia, Abia State. They are Shendam Diocese carved out of Langtang Diocese, Plateau state, Ido-Ani Diocese from present Owo Diocese, in Ondo state, Igbomina West from Igbomina Diocese,Kwara state, Ilesha North East from Ilesha in Osun state and Ijebu South West from Ijebu Diocese in Ogun state. At the presentation, the head of the Committee responsible for creation of new Dioceses, the most Rev.
