Dear President GEJ,
I voted for you in the Presidential Polls and was branded different names for doing so. But I wanted your promised 'breath of fresh air'. Even now, I have been called to remember what they told me then that.
#1. You cannot honour your words/agreements - now, though there were protests against it, your administration promised to so implement it in April. But you have disregarded your initial arrangement and implemented the Subsidy removal in January.
#2. I believe there is a cabal that is making fortunes at the cost of the Nation via the Subsidy and its removal will be beneficial to us all. But this should have been done when and only when the necessary arrangements to cushion the after effects of subsidy removal have been put in place.
The Refineries should all be working at a hundred percent.
The private refineries (licensed/yet to be licensed) should have started operations.
The rumoured transport arrangements by your administration ought to have been in operation before the removal of subsidy (I wonder, dearly beloved President, what areas will it cover? Will it cover every road in the Wards that make up the Local Government Areas or just some routes? I guess not)
Should the minimum wage not have been increased to say, Fifty Thousand naira to enable your subjects enjoy the benefits of the Subsidy removal?
#3. Finally, why the haste? The price of all things are very high now -just within three days of the Removal (You will not know since the taxpayers' money is readily available for you to spend). Could it be the rumoured story that some powerful politicians intend to buy the refineries at peanut prices? Is this true?
#4. Sir, why are we not refining our crude oil?
#5. Why is the cabal behind this subsidy saga not named since you said you know them? Let them be named, prosecuted and the stolen billions retrieved from them.
#6. Talking about the retrieval of the stolen billions, where are the ones so far recovered by EFCC/ICPC? What has become of them? How are we sure what happened to them will not happen to the 'dividend of subsidy removal?'
My darling President, we may not see where you are leading us now, maybe, truly to where we will breathe fresh air. Kindly let your reforms have human face and drive us there slowly (for we know you are not an aggressive but an easy going man). Lest we die before we get there due to the heavy sacrifice you want us to make.
Finally sir, you are a Nigerian too, you and all leaders in this country should make sacrifice by cutting your allowances for us all to know that what you are preach you practice.
Fellow Nigerians, no matter what, we will survive! Nigeria and Nigerians will survive!
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria
